Chapter 8
I was dressed and walking around Rayshelâs room looking at all the beautiful décor, and it was crazy that I was reading her diary not knowing who she was and now I was in her bedroom. She had consumed my thoughts since the day I found that book, and it was mostly because I did not have anything much going on in my life. I was pregnant, but I tried not to think about the baby because the time would go by too slowly and make me anxious. Ironically, since I found the diary, my mind kept going back to it â at first because of the miscarriage Rayshel had, and now, out of fear of how she would react to the news.
The bedroom door opened and she walked in dressed in a white silk robe with probably a nightie under it. Her red hair against the white stood out brightly and she was just absolutely breathtaking. I could not help the smile that came to my lips, and hers greeted me as well.
âI canât believe that after you ran away from me and refused to be in my life youâre standing in my bedroom in my pajamas looking much better than I ever did in them. Life is so unpredictable,â she said.
âIt is indeed,â I replied. âI went to get paint. I did not expect to end up with a friendâ¦â
âI forced you into getting a friend. You did not volunteer,â she said and walked toward me. âYou can thank me later.â
âAnd youâll make sure I donât forget.â
âDamn straight,â she said and held my hand. âSo what are we going to do tonight?â
âIâm the guest. What do you have in mind?â
âYouâre the guest, so you get to do whatever you want.â
âI want to lie in your arms,â I said and she chuckled.
âSee what happens when you lock yourself away from people?â she asked. âThank you for saving me from that mistake.â
âYouâre welcome.â
âAlright, so you could relax in my arms while we watch a movie. How about that?â
âSounds good.â
Rayshel pulled back the covers and got in then she opened her arms and I went in and rested my head above the swell of her breast. She picked up the remote from the side table and turned on the television.
âI love holding you like this,â she said and turned her lips into my hair as she squeezed me to her, then she found a movie app and asked what I wanted to see.
That was the last thing I remembered.
My eyes flew open because I was having a dream about being in the middle of a fight, and it was so bad that it woke me up. Once again, Rayshel was not beside me. I was always a very light sleeper, but being in Rayshelâs arms was so comfortable that it sent me so deep.
âGet your ass out!â I heard a distant shout and I sat up in bed.
âGet the fuck away from me!â I heard Rayshelâs voice.
âOh my God,â I said in a whisper.
